AUGUST NEWSLETTERJeff Ireland, and his wife, Ellen, are members of the Leadership Cabinet for the Riverscape Project, the Downtown Riverfront Redevelopment Plan that is being coordinated by the Downtown Dayton Partnership, the Five Rivers Metro Parks and the Miami Conservancy District. The Leadership Cabinet is led by David Holmes, Chairman of Reynolds & Reynolds, along with his wife, Nancy. Riverscape is a $25 million redevelopment project involving public and private fund-raising. In addition to his law practice focusing on antitrust and environmental litigation, this is one of Jeff Ireland's many community activities. His other current activities include the Miami Valley Regional Transit Authority Board of Trustees, Vice-Chair of Planned Parenthood of the Greater Miami Valley, Chair of the Affordable Housing Fund and a member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. Most of the lawyers at Faruki Gilliam & Ireland P.L.L. are involved in a wide variety of community activities, such as bar committees, community organizations and elective politics. In an era when lawyers are often maligned, the firm encourages its attorneys to utilize their problem-solving skills, and their talents, to give back to the community. In addition, Charlie Faruki spoke at a CLE program sponsored the National Business Institute, titled "Bad Faith Litigation in Ohio," that was presented in Dayton and Cincinnati. Finally, as reported in FG&I's March newsletter, FG&I was selected to participate in an episode of the Executive Forum television series. Jeff Ireland, Ann Wightman and Charlie Faruki taped that program in New York which aired on June 6, 1998, on this nationally-syndicated television show. The show can be viewed on the Executive Forum website. Home | News | Practice | History | Office Tour | Technology | People | Opportunities | Clients | Contact |
