MAY NEWSLETTERIn May, 1998, the Annual Convention of the Ohio State Bar Association was held in Dayton. Two of the firm's lawyers spoke at CLE programs that were part of the educational offerings at the State Bar Convention. Filling in for Ann Wightman who was unable to attend because she was in trial, Jeff Cox participated in the presentation of the Environmental Law Committee of the OSBA and spoke on the topic of Self Audits -- Practical Considerations Pertaining to Ohio's Law. Charlie Faruki spoke on the subject of Distribution Practices (including resale price maintenance restrictions, distribution arrangements and tying arrangements), at the Convention Seminar, Antitrust Basics for the General Practioner, presented by the Antitrust Law Section. Copies of Ann's and Charlie's outlines are available upon request. Other events at the firm in May include the arrival of two summer associates, both members of their law reviews. In addition, Charlie Faruki hosted a fundraiser open to Dayton area lawyers for Chief Justice Thomas Moyer of the Supreme Court of Ohio. The reception for Chief Justice Moyer, held in the firm's offices, brought the Chief Justice to Dayton to meet members of the bar from this area.
