This month a book review authored by Charlie Faruki was published in The Federal Lawyer, the monthly journal of the Federal Bar Association. (Charlie is a past-president of the Dayton Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.) The antitrust text that Charlie reviewed was authored by Samuel C. Thompson, Jr., the Dean of the University of Miami School of Law. The text is "A Practitioner's Guide to the Economics of the Antitrust Merger Guidelines," published by the American Law Institute-American Bar Association Committee on Continuing Professional Education. Charlie's review is found in the July, 1999 issue of The Federal Lawyer (Vol. 46, No. 6), p. 51. Dean Thompson's book teaches the theory and practice of the federal and state antitrust merger guidelines.

August is also the month of FG&I's tenth anniversary. From its founding in 1989 with 9 lawyers, the firm has grown to 26 lawyers, and remains exclusively a litigation firm. A large share of the firm's cases are outside of Ohio; an even larger share of the caseload is outside of Montgomery County, the county of which Dayton is the county seat.
