One of the firm's associates, Tom Kraemer, was asked to make a presentation at the 10th Annual Advanced Computer Law Seminar sponsored by the University of Dayton School of Law on Friday, June 11, 1999. The topic of this year's seminar, which featured speakers from San Francisco, California, Portland, Oregon, and London, England, was Computer and Cyberspace Law. Tom was asked to address the attendees on "Trademark and Jurisdiction Issues for Doing Business Online." Drawing heavily on his experiences in litigating Internet trademark issues for some of the firm's clients, Tom's presentation combined fundamentals of due process and personal jurisdiction law with practical tips for recognizing and dealing with jurisdictional issues unique to cases involving business torts and the Internet.
