FG&I recently announced to clients, friends of the firm, and colleagues the admission of Jeff Cox and Tom Kraemer as partners, and announced the expansion of FG&I's offices to occupy three floors of the Courthouse Plaza building in downtown Dayton. Construction and expansion of the fifth and seventh floors is nearly complete, with reconstruction of the sixth floor well underway. The buildout will be completed this Fall.

FG&I's main floor is now the fifth floor of the Courthouse Plaza building. Our address is now 500 Courthouse Plaza, S.W., Dayton, Ohio, 45402.

Four attorneys joined FG&I this month. 2000 University of Dayton School of Law graduate Ivan Goh, who clerked with the firm during the summer of 1999, is joined by Howard Gardner, a 2000 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law, and Robb Kestner, a 2000 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School as new FG&I lawyers. Also joining the firm is Jeff Siehl, a 1997 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law. Since completing law school, Jeff clerked with U.S. Department of Labor Administrative Law Judge Daniel J. Roketenetz.

The four associates who started with the firm in August, spent their first week at FG&I in training. The subjects of the firm's training sessions for new associates include basic law firm attorney skills instruction, training with regard to the firm's computer and telephone systems, LEXIS-NEXIS training, and education with regard to client relations and service, project management skills, professional responsibility and ethics, working with paralegals, and familiarization with the firm's professional and legal resources.

FG&I is still looking for additional, top-flight lawyers interested in our complex business litigation practice. Strong academic performance is a requisite; law journal or clerkship experience is preferred. If you are interested in such an opportunity, please contact Jeff Cox, FG&I's partner in charge of recruiting, at (937) 227-3704, or by e-mail at: jcox@fgilaw.com.

This past month, two of FG&I's partners, Ann Wightman and Charlie Faruki, were honored for their community involvement and pro bono work. Each of them received the "15 Top Friends of Artemis Award" from Artemis, the Center for Alternatives to Domestic Violence. Ann and Charlie have been involved with Artemis for many years.

The firm has recently adopted a casual dress policy. Since so many of the firm's clients have done so, FG&I followed suit. (Attorneys must keep at the office suitable attire to go to court.)
