FG&I recently extended several offers to law students for employment with the firm. Joining the firm as associates upon graduation in 2001 will be Jennifer Porter (University of Cincinnati College of Law and a 2000 summer law clerk at FG&I); Chad Kohler (Case Western Reserve University Law School); and April Hayne (University of Cincinnati College of Law).

Joining FG&I in May, 2001 as summer clerks will be Robert ("Eli") Kiefaber from Marquette University Law School, as well as Amy Mosel and Lucio Montes from the University of Dayton School of Law. Also invited to return in 2001 for her second summer at FG&I is Janice Baker, an engineer and first-year law student at the University of Dayton.

FG&I congratulates its associates Howard Gardner and Robb Kestner on their recent passage of the Ohio Bar Examination and their admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ohio. Howard joined FG&I this summer upon graduation from the Ohio State University College of Law. Robb joined the firm following his graduation from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Last month Charlie Faruki spoke at two CLE programs. He was a speaker at the Ohio State Bar Association's annual Antitrust Institute, in Columbus. This year's Antitrust Institute focused on Dealings with Competitors: Collaboration, Collusion or Continuum? Charlie was one of the speakers on the issues in prosecuting and defending follow-on state and private actions, including the topics of Ohio Attorney General and private class action cases, multidistrict litigation strategies, joint defense arrangements, class action issues, indirect purchaser and other defenses, and settlement strategies. Charlie and Jeff Ireland are members of the Board of Governors of the Antitrust Section of the Ohio State Bar Association.

Charlie was also a speaker at a CLE program sponsored by the Dayton Bar Association, Legal Issues Involving the Internet." His topic was "Litigating Issues Relating to the Internet," dealing with the types of disputes, applicable substantive law, recent statutory changes and caselaw developments, criminal issues, and the new Ohio and federal electronic signature statutes.
