FG&I's active antitrust practice is reflected not only in the cases the firm handles, but also by the leadership roles FG&I attorneys play in the Antitrust Section of the Ohio State Bar Association. Jeff Ireland is an active member of the Antitrust Section and was recently asked to serve on its Board of Governors. Jeff's leadership in the Antitrust Section follows that of Charlie Faruki, a long-time active member of the Antitrust Section's Board of Governors and speaker at its programs, who has taken Governor Emeritus status.
On Friday, December 3, Charlie Faruki joined Magistrate Judge Michael R. Merz of U.S. District Court in Dayton and another local attorney to present the Federal Court Practice component of the Dayton Bar Association's Civil Practice CLE seminar. Topics covered included the local requirement for filing of discovery plans; local practice on referrals to Magistrate Judge Merz by the District Judges; discovery issues; civility; experts' reports; and summary judgment practice.
FG&I attorneys regularly practice in the federal courts of Ohio and throughout the United States; by way of example, 1999 saw FG&I attorneys litigating in federal district courts in California, Delaware, Indiana, New York, Ohio, Pensylvania, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.
