Charlie
Faruki has been appointed by the District Judges for the Southern
District of Ohio, to serve on the Court's Outside Automation Evaluation
Committee, convened for the purpose of evaluating the computer

includes 6 attorneys.
The September 2000 issue of The Federal Lawyer, the national journal of the Federal Bar Association, contains a book review by Charlie Faruki. The citation is "Trust on Trial: How the Microsoft Case is Reframing the Rules of Competition," 47 The Federal Lawyer 52 (Vol. 47, No. 8, Sept. 2000). Charlie's book review includes a section on the economic arguments in the case.
On October 24, 2000, Charlie was one of two speakers at an all-day continuing legal education seminar, "Litigating the Class Action Lawsuit in Ohio." Topics for the program included Federal and Ohio Rules of Civil Rules of Civil Procedure 23 and 23.1; Evaluation and Initiation of the Class Action Suit; Requirements for Class Certification; Ethical Considerations in the Conduct of Class Actions; Plaintiff and Defense Prospective in Class Action Litigation, and Settlement Strategies. Charlie does quite a bit of CLE speaking, and has also put together a revamped program of training sessions for the firm's associates.
FG&I was represented recently in the U.S. Air Force Marathon
run at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. FG&I partners Jeff
Cox and Tom Kraemer were joined by associates John Fischer and
Robb Kestner, and paralegal Beth O'Connor, as well as three other
friends of the firm to form two four-person relay teams. FG&I's
runners joined approximately 3,000 marathoners and relay runners
for the event, with both FG&I relay teams finishing in approximately
four hours, and
placing well among the co-ed relay teams.
FG&I partner and Dayton City Commissioner Mary Wiseman
hosts a quarterly cable television program for the Miami Valley
Cable Council called "Both Sides Now." This fall's program
focuses on campaign finance reform at the state and local levels.
