FG&I Launches New Recruiting Effort. As part of a coordinated expansion of the firm's recruiting efforts, which will include visits to several of the nation's leading law schools, the firm has completed a new FG&I recruiting brochure. Featuring six of the firm's associates, the six-panel, color photograph brochure was the idea of Managing Partner Charlie Faruki. Partner Jeff Cox and FG&I Executive Director worked closely with the firm's outside consultant, Dayton-based Communication Arts, to create and produce the brochure, which tells prospective new associates about FG&I, practice opportunities, and Dayton. The brochure is available at all of the law schools where FG&I is recruiting this fall, including Georgetown, George Washington, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington, Washington and Lee, Ohio State, Cincinnati and Dayton. Copies are also available upon request to jkendall@fgilaw.com.
Dayton an Up-and-Coming Center for Information Technology. Dayton has been listed as one of eight regions in the country with good prospects for a healthy, long-term information technology future. A recent article in InfoWorld magazine concluded that Dayton, considering cost of living, diversity of area industries, the presence of a federal government backbone, and other factors, was not only an up-and-coming IT center, but also that Dayton's small-town feel set it apart. Other commentary has mentioned the presence of companies like FG&I's clients LEXIS-NEXIS, NCR, and The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, as among the companies that make Dayton an IT center.
FG&I Supports Dayton's i-Zone. FG&I associate Ron Raether is providing time and talent in support of Dayton's technology business incubator, the "i-Zone." Organized just over one year ago by several of Dayton's leading, established technology businesses, the i-Zone is a "one stop shop" that helps "connect the dots" for technology-oriented entrepreneurs by providing funding, advice and counsel, professional services and space. The i-Zone is facilitated by a dynamic group of seasoned volunteers, organizations and business and professional interests representing both the public and private sector. Ron is part of a group of i-Zone volunteers who meet withentrepreneurs to evaluate their business plans, and to offer advice and constructive criticism to businesses in their formative stage.
