FG&I partner Mary Wiseman has been asked to serve on the Board of Trustees for The Entrepreneurs Center (“TEC”) in Dayton. The only lawyer on the TEC Board, Mary has been a regular seminar presenter to TEC and its tenants over the last year, addressing legal issues affecting new and growth-minded businesses, especially in the area of harnessing and protecting the value of intellectual property. TEC is a business incubator facility, which provides mentoring, counseling, space and other tools to assist and incentivize Dayton’s dynamic entrepreneurial business community.
In addition to her new role at TEC, Mary Wiseman has been selected to serve on the Board of Trustees of Dayton’s Legal Aid Society (“LAS”). LAS provides pro bono publico legal services and counseling to those otherwise unable to access the justice system. Mary's experience on the Dayton City Commission from 1997 to 2002 provides her with a unique and valuable perspective on the importance of making access to justice available for all segments of our region. Mary's community service with The Entrepreneurs' Center and Dayton's Legal Aid Society continues her extensive volunteer involvement. In the past, Mary has been on the Boards of the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and its Transportation Committee, the Montgomery County ED/GE Committee, the Montgomery County Historical Society, Dayton Access Television, and Dayton's Environmental Advisory Board, among many others. In addition to her civic activities, Mary also is active in the Dayton Bar Association and will co-chair, with local attorney Alvarene Owens, its Diversity Committee in the upcoming year.
FG&I welcomed its 2002 summer associates to the firm in May. Joining FG&I for the summer months are Tom Gibney from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and Mark Mahoney from the University of Dayton School of Law. Both Tom and Mark will be entering their third year of law school in Fall 2002. Tom entered law school following a successful career as a financial manager for some of the nation’s leading advertising agencies in New York and Chicago. He is a graduate of the Catholic University of America. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Pharmacy, Mark is a registeredpharmacist, and worked for several years in that capacity with the United States Air Force.
FG&I recently upgraded its telephone system to increase convenience for our clients and friends in their communications with the firm. Effective May 13, all FG&I employees have a direct dial telephone number. For many of our longer-term employees, the numbers are unchanged. For those attorneys, paralegals and staff previously reachable through the 227-3700 or 227-3742 + extension dialing, you may now reach them directly at the telephone numbers listed below. FG&I attorney names appear capitalized and in bold print, with their secretary’s name and extension following in parenthesis.
