JANUARY NEWSLETTER

Faruki Ireland & Cox P.L.L. is pleased to announce the addition of three new associate attorneys.  On January 6, Ian Taronji joined the firm as an associate, having recently relocated to Dayton from the Detroit area where he practiced civil litigation.  A 1994 graduate of the University of Michigan, Ian is a 2000 graduate of Wayne State University Law School and is a member of the Michigan Bar.  Also joining FI&C this month as an associate is Tony Alexander.  Tony is a 1988 graduate of Wright State University and The Ohio State University College of Law.  Since his 2000 graduation from OSU, Tony, a member of the Ohio Bar, has been practicing with Day, Ketterer, Raley, Wright & Rybolt, Ltd., in Canton, Ohio.  FI&C adds Julie Zink to its associate rolls at the beginning of February.  Julie joins FI&C from the Alexandria, Virginia intellectual property law firm of Oliff & Berridge.  Julie is admitted to practice in Ohio, Virginia and the District of Columbia.  A 1996 graduate of Wright State University, Julie graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1999 where she participated in the Law and Technology Program.

In our November 2002 newsletter update, the firm announced that Adam Sherman would join us.  He has done so.  Formerly with the New York City Office of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, Adam is a member of the New York Bar and is a candidate for admission to the Ohio Bar and California Bar.  Adam is a 1997 honors graduate of the University of Michigan, and a 2001 graduate of the New York University School of Law.

At the Dayton Bar Association meeting last month, Charlie Faruki received an award from the Legal Aid Society of Dayton, for chairing the 2002 Access to Justice campaign, which raised funds from attorneys for the Legal Aid Society and for the Volunteer Lawyers Program of the Dayton Bar Association.  As the current President of the Dayton Bar Association Foundation, Charlie is involved with the charitable efforts of lawyers in Dayton.  Last month Charlie taught part of a CLE program at the Dayton Bar Association; each year Charlie gives an annual update on federal jurisdiction, practice and procedure developments as part of the DBA's year-end CLE efforts.
