Andy Gottman was recently involved in a successful effort to halt the use of false and misleading advertising by a competitor of one of the firm's long-standing clients. On March 15, 2004, the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau issued a decision discontinuing several brochures from a competitor of The Iams Company. Andy and several of Iams's scientists presented the case on the falsity of the advertising to an NAD panel in New York City in January 2004. FI&C also represents The Procter & Gamble Company, of which the Iams Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary.
On March 26, 2004, John Stinneford spoke to a Conference of Religiously Affiliated Law Schools meeting at the University of Notre Dame. John was a panelist for a discussion exploring whether (and how) the religious character of the institution can be incorporated into the curriculum for such law schools. John's presentation was entitled: "Notes Toward a Catholic Critique of American Establishment Clause Jurisprudence."
Charlie Faruki served this month as a faculty member for a National Business Institute
seminar entitled "Keys to Successful Pre-Trial Preparation in Ohio." The program was presented in Cincinnati on April 29 and Dayton on April 30.
Tim Pepper was a faculty member for the April 27 Sterling Education Services seminar entitled: "Practical Applications of Employment Law in Ohio."
