FI&C is pleased to report that Charlie Faruki, our Managing Partner and one of the founding members of the firm, was recently recognized as Dayton's most influential lawyer in the August 6, 2004 Dayton Business Journal publication:  "Power-Dayton's Most Influential People."  Charlie moved to #1 on the list in the law category, having been #3 on last year's list of most influential persons in the law.  The write-up in the Dayton Business Journal included the following:

"As the managing partner and one of the founding members of Faruki Ireland & Cox, Charles Faruki leads one of the largest law firms in the Dayton area and this year was named by Minneapolis-based Law & Politics Media Inc. as one of the top 10 attorneys in the state.

His firm is exclusively a litigation practice and currently has more than 40 lawyers.  The firm's clients include Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co., and Dayton-based DPL Inc., NCR Corp., Reynolds and Reynolds Co., and LexisNexis."

The July 30, 2004 edition of the Dayton Business Journal published its annual listing of Dayton-Area Law Firms, ranked by number of local lawyers.  Faruki Ireland & Cox ranked third in size; aside from being the third-largest firm in town, we are the largest litigation practice.  The firm's growth has resulted from client demand for its services, and not, for example, from a goal to become larger for the sake of size.  Our firm strives to maintain its standards of excellence and hard work, and let the size issues take care of themselves. 

Our firm is pleased that Bob Bartlett, a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a long time partner in another Dayton firm, has joined Faruki Ireland & Cox.  Bob currently chairs the Media Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association, and is a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference.  We are pleased to have Bob join our practice.

FI&C is pleased to welcome seven new associates joining the firm this month, representing five law schools and six different undergraduate institutions.  The new associates include (name, law school, college);  Erin Bair (The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, The Ohio State University); Jacqueline Brown (Indiana University Law School, DePauw University); Chad Burton (Case Western Reserve University Law School, Miami University); Holt Hedrick (Indiana University Law School, Indiana University); Tonya Noldon (University of Virginia Law School, Cornell University); Lynn Preston (University of Dayton School of Law, University of Virginia); Erin Stefanec (University of Dayton School of Law, Miami University).  FI&C has over forty attorneys with the addition of these exceptional young attorneys.
