 We live and work in an ever-changing global economy. The legal marketplace, likewise, continues to change. Certainly FI&C's firm profile continues to evolve so that we can best serve our expanding client base and the changing set of legal issues confronting those clients. For FI&C, that evolution does not mean unlimited growth but rather a refined and expanded emphasis on recruiting, professional development and the strategic enhancement of our base of experienced first-chair trial attorneys.
Put differently, we remain motivated, as we have since our founding, not on becoming a firm of any predetermined size with offices in numerous locations, but rather on continuing to serve our clients with a passion for excellence. That singular focus has allowed FI&C to flourish on a national scale, to attract clients located across the United States and abroad, and to continue to prepare and try an increasing number of cases in state and federal courts from coast to coast. We have grown to meet client demand. Over forty trial attorneys with the single focus on achieving excellent results for our clients give to you the human capacity and technological capabilities to meet or exceed the litigation groups of many large regional all-purpose firms, but without the costs, overhead and client conflicts inherent in such firms.
Since our formation in 1989, our practice has been tailored to commercial disputes of all types, including antitrust, securities, intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark and trade secrets), class actions, e-business and technology, competition-driven clashes (including false advertising and covenants not to compete), First Amendment/free speech, injunction cases, environmental, contract and warranty disputes, employment and discrimination cases, products liability, administrative and zoning litigation.
While we have often been asked to consider expanding into other practice areas, we have resisted the temptation, and have chosen to stay focused on what we do best -- providing high-quality counseling, litigation and trial work. We handle complicated disputes; we investigate, analyze, develop and implement appropriate resolution strategies and options. We work hard for our clients -- we excel at it -- which shows in the results obtained.
