Jeff Ireland and Brian Wright prevailed
on a motion for summary judgment in an action pending on the new Commercial Docket of the Court of Common Pleas for Hamilton County, Ohio. In the motion for summary judgment, FI&C argued that its client did not owe any monies to the opposing party for goods and services because the unambiguous terms of the parties' agreement showed that there was no breach of contract. Judge Steven Martin agreed with FI&C's arguments, and the Court granted the motion for summary judgment. The opposing party has appealed the decision.

Charlie Faruki spoke in Cleveland
at a program sponsored by the Northern District of Ohio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. The program was titled "Intellectual Property Litigation: Insurance Leverage and Litigation Strategies," and Charlie spoke on the topic "Strategies for Maximizing Coverage for IP Claims."

FI&C has received a commendation
for the contributions of its lawyers and staff to A Special Wish Foundation, Inc. The contribution was part of a challenge to law firms in Dayton. Three firms participated in the challenge. "We decided to have fun with it," said FI&C Partner Marty Foos. "The firm sponsored a party at my downtown condominium, and we sold raffle tickets for prizes." A Special Wish Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children under the age of 21 and diagnosed as having a life-threatening disorder.
