Holt joined Faruki Ireland & Cox as an associate in 2004. His practice deals with a range of commercial litigation issues, including class action defense, mass torts, federal privacy statutory claims, and public utilities regulations. Holt also recently published an expert advice piece in the Dayton Business Journal entitled "Technology Prompts Changes in Non-Compete Agreements." To gain courtroom experience, Holt completed a three month FIC externship with the Montgomery County Public Defender's Office, handling a variety of criminal matters before the Montgomery County Courts of Common Please. Holt has practiced before the state and federal bench, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, and the American Arbitration Association.
Holt is serving in his second year as FIC's Summer Associate Coordinator, and also serves as the Vice-Chair of the firm's Ownership Committee.
Holt stays involved in his local community (both legal and civic) through his membership in various organizations. Holt is an actively involved in the Dayton Bar Association, especially the Young Lawyers' Division. He is also the Interview Subcommittee Chair of the Bar Examination and Qualifications Committee. In addition, Holt is a member of Generation Dayton (young professionals association), the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court, the IU Alumni Club (Dayton Chapter), and the Dayton Bicycle Club.
In law school, Holt served as the Executive Competition Coordinator for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Board during his third year and was named "Best Brief Writer" while making it to the quarterfinalist round in the prior year. Hedrick received the CALI "High Grade" award in both Negotiations and Sports Law. Holt currently serves as a recruiting ambassador for the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, communicating with prospective students regarding the school and any questions they may have. He also returns to IU annually to serve as a justice for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition.
As a political science major at Indiana University, Holt received a full-ride academic scholarship. Upon graduation from the Honors College with Highest Distinction in 2001, Hedrick was honored by his professors with the Ford C. Hall award, given to the "Most Outstanding Student in the Department of Political Science."
An avid sports enthusiast (especially IU basketball), Holt grew up in Rockport, Indiana, and graduated valedictorian of his class from South Spencer High School in 1997.
