Rebecca Owen joined FI&C in August 2005, and is a member of the Dayton Bar Association, the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court, and the Dayton Bar Association New Lawyers' Committee.

A 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Rebecca served as Symposium Editor for the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. In this position, she planned and hosted a seminar on potential ethical pitfalls in the practice of alternative dispute resolution. The Journal on Dispute Resolution also published Rebecca's student note, "In Re Uncertainty: A Uniform and Confidential Treatment of Evidentiary and Advocatory Materials Used in Mediation." 20 Ohio St. J. on Disp. Resol. 911 (2005). Rebecca was also actively involved with moot court, competing in the Herman Moot Court Competition, representing Ohio State on the Evidence Moot Court Team, and serving on the Moot Court Governing Board for three years. She was Academic Chair for Delta Theta Phi, mediated for the Franklin County Night Prosecutor's Office, and participated in a program designed to teach elementary school students about non-violent dispute resolution. At graduation, Rebecca was honored as a Public Service Fellow and received the College's Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution, the Leslie Lucas Memorial Award and the Charles W. Kettlewell Professional Responsibility Award.

As an Undergraduate at Wright State University, Rebecca was active in Residence Life, serving as a Community Advisor and as a member of the Residential Community Association. She was a President's Ambassador for the University, a teaching assistant for several public speaking courses and an active member of Wright State's Model United Nations Team. As a result of this involvement, Rebecca received an Academic Letter and two Presidential Commendations for her extra-curricular involvement. Rebecca has continued her involvement in Model UN, serving as a member of conference staff at four conferences, including the National Model UN Conference, held annually in New York City, and the Dayton Model UN Conference, where she served as Secretary General in 2003.
