Erin joined FI&C in August 2004 and has participated in various aspects of the firm's litigation practice, focusing on state and federal class action defense. Erin has experience defending federal securities fraud claims, as well as mass tort claims. Erin is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Erin is an active member of local and national bar associations, as well as the local legal community. In early 2010, Erin was appointed to serve as Assistant Editor of TYL, the official publication of the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division. Erin has also served as Chair of the Bar Briefs Editorial Board. Bar Briefs is the official publication of the Dayton Bar Association.
In 2006, Erin co-founded the Dayton Bar Association's 5 for the Kids, 5K race to benefit CARE House, an advocacy center for child victims of abuse and neglect, and acted as co-chair of the race in 2007 and 2008. She was recognized by the Ohio State Bar Association Foundation for her efforts, and was awarded the Community Service Award for Lawyers 40 and Under.
Erin is also an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law and, from 2004 through 2008, she acted as legal advisor for Chaminade Julienne High School's mock trial team.
Erin is a prolific author for both local and national publications. She has published articles in The Federal Lawyer magazine regarding the heightened pleading standards associated with securities fraud litigation, as well as articles in the ABA's Pretrial Practice & Discovery publication regarding federal subpoena practice. She has also authored work published by the Dayton Business Journal and the Dayton Bar Association.
A graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law, Erin was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, a member of the Honor Council and a published staff writer for the Dayton Law Review. During her time in law school, Erin clerked for the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, Office of the District Counsel, in Chicago, Illinois, and acted as a law clerk for Judge John M. Meagher, Ret., who has a private arbitration and mediation practice based in Dayton, Ohio.
While attending Miami University, Erin participated in a study abroad program where she traveled throughout Western Europe studying International Accounting and International Business Law. Erin was also an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity and the Order of Omega honors fraternity.
