A former summer clerk of the firm, Erin joined FI&C full time in August 2004 and has participated in various aspects of the firm's litigation practice, including securities fraud and class action defense. Erin is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Erin is a member of the American, Ohio and Dayton Bar Associations. She is Chair of the editorial board for Bar Briefs, the official publication of the Dayton Bar Association, and co-chair of the 5 for the Kids, 5K charity race, which is hosted by the Young Laywers Division of the Dayton Bar Association. Erin recieved the Ohio State Bar Association Foundation, Attorneys Under 40 Community Service Award for her work as co-chair. Erin is also legal advisor for Chaminade Julienne High School's mock trial team, and an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law.
Erin was published in The Federal Lawyer, which is the nationally-circulated professional magazine of the Federal Bar Association and is dedicated to the interests of practitioners of federal law. Her article, "Pleading for Particularity," discusses the waning applicability of the group pleading doctrine, which is often used by plaintiffs when pleading claims of securities fraud against multiple defendants for alleged violations of section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5.
A graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law, Erin was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, a member of the Honor Council and a published staff writer for the Dayton Law Review. Erin also received a CALI award honoring her academic excellence in Administrative Law. During her time in law school, Erin clerked for the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, Office of the District Counsel, in Chicago, Illinois and acted as a law clerk for Judge John M. Meagher, Ret., who has a private arbitration and mediation practice based in Dayton, Ohio.
While attending Miami University, Erin participated in a study abroad program where she traveled throughout Western Europe studying International Accounting and International Business Law. Erin was also an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity and the Order of Omega honors fraternity.
