Since joining Faruki Ireland & Cox P.L.L. in August 2003, Eric has litigated numerous complex matters in various courts and before the American Arbitration Association. Eric's practice areas include class actions, business torts, covenants not to compete, unfair competition, breach of contract, employment law, asbestos, privacy matters, antitrust, and dealer terminations. In addition, Eric has represented large companies in cases involving false advertising and product recalls, including developing discovery plans and addressing evidence preservation issues.

Eric, a member of the Order of the Coif, graduated from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in May 2003. For the Indiana Law Journal, Eric was an associate editor and was then selected to be a Notes and Comments Editor. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A., 2000), Eric performed an economic regression analysis for his thesis, No More Excuses: A Case Study on Why Education in North Carolina Ranks Below National Averages.

Eric has authored several articles for publication. Recently, a newsletter of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation published his article, Five Tips for the Persuasive Researcher, discussing research tips for motion practice. Eric also has been published in the Cleveland State Law Review. His article, Driving Through the Dense Fog: Analysis of and Proposed Changes to Ohio Tortious Interference Law, 55 Clev. St. L. Rev. 339 (2007), analyzes when a person or business may lawfully interfere with the contracts or business relationships of others, and it proposes four changes to Ohio law.  The proposals are primarily based on public policies that promote competition, that protect the legal rights of parties to binding contracts, and that protect the expectancy interests of parties to terminable at will business relationships. Last, Eric wrote a Note during law school, Reconsidering the Mythical Advantages of Cohabitation: Why Marriage Is More Efficient Than Cohabitation, 78 Ind. L.J. 1069 (2003).

Through the firm's professional development program (FI&C University), Eric actively trains new and junior associates on research and writing skills. He also assists the firm during recruiting season. Further, Eric volunteers his time to work with law students at the University of Dayton School of Law, including to speak at the Christian Legal Society.

Eric is licensed in the State of Ohio and admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. Eric is a member of Apex Community Church where he teaches elementary students about the Bible.  In October 2005, Eric finished his first marathon. He was raised in the mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
