Jeff Cox's February 2 article, "Four of the Most Important Letters in the Alphabet - G, D, P and R" regarding the impact to U.S. businesses from the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") was re-published in the Financial Market Report, a publication of the South African Institute of Financial Markets.  Set to go into effect on May 25, 2018, the GDPR imposes a new framework on companies around the world for the control and processing of data as it relates to persons residing in European Union nation-states; its extra-territorial impact will be felt around the globe, raising a myriad of compliance and enforcement issues.  Jeff's article highlights the need for businesses to seek guidance on how to meet the GDPR's regulations.

Jeff Sharkey successfully obtained a temporary restraining order for a client in Coshocton County, Ohio.  That order precludes a former employee from competing with the client or soliciting employees of the client to join competitors.  A preliminary injunction hearing is scheduled for late March.  Jeff has extensive experience litigating non-compete cases in various courts in Ohio.

The firm has joined the I-70/75 Development Association, with Jeff Cox representing the firm.  The Association convenes regularly to discuss economic development efforts and opportunities in the west-central Ohio region, and to facilitate engagement and cooperation among its members who represent the architect, engineer, design, construction, state and local government, banking and professional communities.
