At a time of great discord, one fact that meets with universal agreement: 2020 has been a year unlike any other. From the ongoing ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic and its human, emotional and economic toll, and the deep, resonant social upheaval and demand for racial justice and equality following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers, this year has brought challenges both unexpected, and others long overdue. As a law firm, our resolve has been to care for our people and for our clients with deep-felt concern, integrity and purpose.
In mid-March, we moved to a remote work environment for all employees. That transition proved a seamless one, and the dedication of our attorneys and staff assured uninterrupted service to our clients. Of course, the stay-at-home orders, court closures, social distancing protocols and other restrictions have had a substantial and ongoing effect on litigation practice all across the country. While other firms have needed to resort to furloughs and compensation reductions, we have been fortunate to have plenty of challenging client matters that have kept us “open for business” and busy, for which we are deeply appreciative. Throughout, our commitment to our core values of Excellence, Respect, Candor and Service has remained unflagging.
As the economy begins to “re-open” and we all adjust to new work patterns and practices, office protocols, continued remote working for many, and normalized social distancing options, our message to clients and to our community remains the same. We are ready and committed to provide strategic guidance, trusted wisdom and intelligent tenacity in service to our clients, and as a resource in our home communities of Dayton and Cincinnati, as we work together to emerge from the pandemic and to usher in a new era of equality and respect.
To our clients, professional colleagues, neighbors and friends, all of us at Faruki+ thank you for your resilience in these difficult times, and for allowing us to partner with you on your legal and business needs, and in service of our communities. Together, we can achieve extraordinary results.
