FIC_UpdatesAfter an extensive nomination and research process for the Seventh Annual Global Law Experts Awards, Faruki Ireland & Cox has been chosen as the winner in the category: Business Litigation Law Firm of the Year in Ohio – 2016.  In addition to recommendations from in-house legal counsel, law firms, bar associations, and other sources, Global Law Experts conducted independent research in order to create a shortlist for each award category.  The awards, which began in 2010, and are designed in part to identify market leaders in different legal fields.

On May 13, 2016, Jeff Ireland spoke to the Ohio Management Lawyers Association on the topic of Cross Examination That Hurts the Witness, Not You. His hour long presentation addressed his experience and techniques in preparing cross examination of witnesses in jury and bench trials, as well as other proceedings.

In June, Charlie Faruki was one of the former Board chairs of the Air Force Museum Foundation who participated in cutting the ribbon to open the new Fourth Building at the National Museum of the United States Air Force outside Dayton. The Air Force Museum Foundation raised over $40 million for the construction of that building.  Charlie was on the Foundation's Board of Trustees for nine years, and served as chair of the Board of Trustees for two of those years.

Scot Ganow presented to the Ohio State Bar Association’s Business Law Conference on May 23, 2016.  Scot shared his expertise with data governance and what we have learned about data breach response in the little more than ten years since “data breach” became part of the American lexicon.
