Jeff Sharkey, Jeff Ireland and Chris Hollon were involved in the negotiation of a Stipulation and Recommendation on behalf of The Dayton Power & Light Company. The Stipulation and Recommendation was filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio on January 30, 2017, and it resolves among several parties outstanding issues relating to the Company's Electric Security Plan.  The Stipulation and Recommendation is subject to Commission review and an evidentiary hearing on the Stipulation is scheduled to begin on March 8, 2017.

Erin Rhinehart was recently invited to join the Editorial Board for the prestigious ABA Litigation Journal. According to its website, Litigation, published quarterly, "is the preeminent journal in the field of trial practice. The publication offers practical yet lively information on common problems and interests for the lawyers who try cases and the judges who decide them."  The publication is available to members of the ABA's Section of Litigation. The Editorial Board consists of prominent litigators from firms across the country, as well as trial court and appellate judges.  Erin's appointment is effective immediately.

Erin Rhinehart moderated a panel at the Ohio Newspaper Association 2017 Convention on February 8 in Columbus.  The panel was titled, "Breakout Session:  Your One-Stop Panel for Legal Issues," and addressed various legal issues affecting the media today, including security, fake news, and Ohio's recent enactment of a special judicial body to hear public records disputes through the Ohio Court of Claims.

Scot Ganow spoke to the Dayton Bar Association's Inn of Court on the state of data breach litigation and how attorneys and firms can better safeguard their client information against emerging threats.  Scot also provided a primer on the various data privacy laws impacting firms and their clients.

Zachary Heck was hired as an adjunct professor for Wright State University's Cybersecurity Program in the Computer Science & Engineering Department.  Zach designed and teaches a new course, called Legal Aspects of Cybersecurity, which will prepare students for many of the challenges facing security professionals.  Zach's course focuses on legal components within the industry, examination of pressing threats to data and systems, the major legal and practical responses, and the policy issues they raise.

Erin Rhinehart was selected to serve on Law360’s Media & Entertainment Editorial Advisory Board for 2017.  Erin has served on the Board since 2015. 

Zachary Heck was published in the January 2017 edition of the American Bar Association's tyl magazine.  Zach's article, "Will the Real Stephen Colbert Please Stand Up?" examined the intellectual property issues stemming from Stephen Colbert's use of his Comedy Central alter ego during segments of CBS's The Late Show.
